On Faith and Believing

Once there was a boy who was trapped in a hotel that had caught fire. He came to the window but could not see anything due to the smoke. He would have jumped down, but he did not know where he would be landing. So he just stood at the window till he heard from below his father’s voice calling to him, “Son, I can see you though you cannot see me! Jump down and I will hold you!” The young boy recognized the voice of his father and so he jumped down only to be held by his father’s secure arms.

We often hear that the Father in heaven cares for us, looks after us, and protects us. But there are circumstances in life when everything seems dark and lonely, when our troubles and trials seems to overwhelm us. If we are able to recognize God’s voice and jump down into His hands with faith and trust, He will surely take of us.

Quote: “Without faith a man can do nothing; with it all things are possible.” – Sir William Osler
