He was an Indian business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries in Mumbai. Success did not come to him before he overcame setbacks and failures. His life has often being referred to as a true ‘rags to riches’ story. He did not attend school. He had to live without proper food, shelter and clothing on many occasions. In the early days of his struggle he lived in a car garage. He started by working with a firm in Yemen in the 1950s and moved to Mumbai only in 1958 with a thousand rupee in his pocket. He is today regarded as the architect of the great Indian industrial revolution.
