Love’s Power

Anthony Castle cites the following incident: V. Backman had enjoyed a picnic with his family at the beach. As he got his car ready for the trip home, the scream of his four-year-old son sent him out of his automobile. He winced with fright when he saw what he had done. In backing up, he had run over his own boy. Without a pause, the 130-lb man grabbed the bumper of the 3,000-lb car and almost miraculously lifted it high enough to free the boy pinned under one of the wheels.

Love is said to be a “radioactive” power which can transform the whole world and lift any burden. Deep inside, we are all aware of this immense reservoir of strength that we summon in extremely stressful situations when a loved one’s life or welfare is at stake.

Quote: “Love me when I least deserve it, that’s when I really need it.” Harold Hulbert
