Marie Curie was a polish physicist and chemist, working mainly in France. She is famous for her pioneering research on radioactivity. Early on, the experts advised her, ‘forget it’. They all agreed that radium was a scientifically impossible idea. However, Marie Curie insisted, “I can make it happen’. She pioneered research on radioactivity and discovered two elements – polonium and radium. Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and is the only woman to win in two fields, and the only person to win in multiple sciences.
