American television host, actress, producer, and philanthropist, best known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history, and has been nationally syndicated in USA from 1986 to 211. But Oprah faced a hard road to get to that position, however, enduring a rough and often abusive childhood as well as numerous career setbacks including being fired from her job as a television reporter because she was ‘unfit for TV’.
She said once, people ask me all the time, “What do I want in life?” And I tell them, “I don’t want to just be successful in the world. I don’t want to just make a mark, or leave a legacy. The answer to that question for me is – I want to fulfill the highest and truest expression of myself as a human being.”
